Boredom

When there is absolutely nothing on your mind and some one asks "Whatcha thinking about?" or some variation thereof, how do you reply? I ask only because there apparently isn't a right answer, even when you tell the truth and say "nothing". Usually after you respond the other person is insistant that something MUST be on your mind, there is absolutely NO WAY you can simply just relax and shut down. I guess some people just dont understand, some of us are gifted with blessed silence, we can tune EVERYTHING out, including our own thoughts, some of us can in fact be blank. Sometimes nothingness is a gift to be cherished, it reminds you just exactly how beautiful life is by showing you how boring blankness is. Although, this nothingness, this blankness, is not without value, it encourages creation, design, the one thing humans have over all other beings on this planet. Be it divine, mundane, or just pure luck, this gift is a great thing and is the only real reason why our species has indeed survived. Take this away from us, and we're the perfect prey, evolution or creation did not give us claws to defend ourselves with. Beaks or talons, or in fact any of the other "weapons" other species have developed. Our best defense mechanism without creation is the flight response, because honestly, very few of us can actually "fight" something hunting us without using a weapon of some sort, a creation of man. The closest thing most animals get to a weapon they "created" is bashing something open with a rock or stick. And yes, this post has absolutely no point that hasn't already been discussed by people much more intellegent than I, but I felt like sharing something that just happened to pop into my head once I realized exactly how bored and "blank" I am today. Time to go fill my nothingness with something beautiful.
